The Paper Mache Towers experienced turbulent times. Relaxation was antonymous with Paper Mache and regular posts were difficult. It did not help that the internet was installed in the property only a week before we all (except Play Doh) left the premises.
Goliath made a come back, in fact his baby - Thumper. Goliath wasn't nimble enough to gnaw his way through those awkward angles what with his over sized hands and mouth. But Thumper was more able, he could gnaw through several layers of gaffer tape each night, manouvre around steel barracades, find his food and slip back through his new hole without being seen. He was a stealth master. Play Doh, I hope you two are getting along since we have left.
It is strange to look at rent comparasons in London. We are paying the same price with bills on top, but instead of 1 toilet bunker, we have two lovely lavs...
instead of having no living area, we have a huge lounge that goes out onto a private garden with a pond and a barbeque (we also have a communinal garden which backs onto Regents Canal).
Instead of a tiny kitchen where we have to eat and relax and hang out, we have a kitchen which is 4 times the size.... in fact I have plenty of time to think about life during my walk from the kitchen sink to the refrigerator.
Instead of an asshole landlord who turns up in your kitchen at 10pm on a Monday night to 'catch up', we have a lovely man who gets professionals, yes professionals to fix things whilst giving us privacy. The last time something needed to be fixed at Paper Mache we found our kitchen and Shower gutted for a whole week with no notice, and had to find friends with showers so our work places would open their doors to us each day.
Yes there are bound to be things I have missed, we have a new place... the palace - where neighbours have to decide if they take the porche or the lambo to work each day. Where we awake with birds and hang our washing out side. Where we grill our food in the sunshine, while we water the plants.
